Hello from the middle of the Pacific!! I went to bed on Tuesday night and I woke up and it was Thursday morning! We crossed the international date line Monday, but Semester at Sea chose for us to skip Wednesday for some reason. Wow- I think I almost included every day of the week in that sentence. I’m still not sure if I totally understand how this time difference works but I do know that I am now 18 hours ahead of everyone at home!
So far the seas have been calmer and the transition to life on the water again has been easier. My days usually consist of eating breakfast out on the deck, going to class, working out, and then laying out in the sun studying and hanging out with friends. Then at night there always random activities going on. Monday I went to a Zumba class and later we had a ship-wide dance in the student union(both of those activities became more difficult with the rocking!). Tuesday night we all watched JAWS in the union.
I am already having a great time and we haven’t even made it to another country yet. I’m meeting people from all over the place and each person brings something different to the table. I have already learned so much! Every morning I get up and look out my window to only find a beautiful deep blue ocean and I have to ask myself “is this really happening?!” I am so blessed and fortunate to have this opportunity!
I know you are all busy and stuff, but those of us stuck in cold cold Knoxville need some updates!! =]
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU!
